Dressing Room Confidential: Plus Size Shopping at MACYS

facebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblrmailfacebooktwittergoogle_pluspinterestlinkedintumblrmail

Last weekend I went to Macy’s to see if they had anything on the 7th floor where the plus sizes live.

I tried on some Michael Kors and Calvin Klein pieces along with some more affordable items from INC and American Rag (who is definitely bringing back a 1990′s trend) If you see me sporting big sunflowers and carrying a baby backpack, you’ll know why…

Shopping Tip: If you go shopping at the Macy’s on 34th street, hit up the visitors center and show your out of state/out of country ID. They’ll give you a 15% off coupon that’s good for three days!

The piece I loved the most was over $300 which is not in my budget right now, but there were a few other items that were cool… let me know which pieces you like?

Shop the look:

I absolutely love Macy’s on 34th. I think the pink dress was made for you. It looked so good. I liked the faux leather one to in black more than blue.

I love it too… Just wish it had pockets!!

Thank you for sharing your shopping trip with us!!! I love love love Macys
The aqua was no 1 in my book. In a sea of black….. That Aqua is luxe and fun
at the same time. The motto jacket was hooot, wear it with a scarf and
that’ll help with fit issue, however it looked like it fit just fine! The pink I like
with a big belt and cardi, the pleating, I don’t know about. The jumper is
    amazeballs!!!!!!

Good ideas, for sure!! Isn’t that jumper everything??? Augh!!!!

I just got a dress from Gwynnie Bee that was straight out of the 90s! I even said (out loud) “I wish I had some black folder over Docs for this!” I’m ashamed to say I’m loving the 90s trend, but I can’t help it – those are my high school years!! Love your picks :)

LOL! I feel like Doc Martens are going to see a lot more sales this season… so funny!

I like the pink dress and the trench the best (darn when they are expensive)! The jumpsuit…my hangup is when something tapers so much from hips to ankles it gives the visual of the hips being larger than they are, plus draping on the hips adds more width. For me, I’m wide at the hips and narrow down to the ankles so I prefer stuff to balance me out like a boot cut shape pant but keep away wide leg pants. They make me look like I have stove pipes for legs and my feet always get caught in them. lol

It’s funny how the CK dress in blue (awesome color on you) looks much more approachable than it did in the leather, even zipped. Color and material changes the whole attitude of the dress.

I take an annual week long vacay to NYC and Macy’s 7th floor is always one of my stops. Loving that aqua dress — a perfect transition piece from now into spring and summer. And I may have to have something like that jumpsuit. I have no idea where I’d wear it, but that makes no matter. My errands might just be more fun if I were to run them wearing that ;-)

      LOL you’re so cute…
